Belknap

Yesterday we had a solid turn out of 9 players turn out for a number of games with amazing clear and warm weather. For the last two weeks we have been playing our pick-up games with a 12 minute clock which partnered with our new location seems to have upped play.

A few stats from yesterday:

9 - polo players
1 - new polo bike, Matt's new All-City Dropout with Velocity Chukkers, US made 22T White Industries Freewheel, MKE Polo Guard, and a double-pull brake set-up.
1 - broken shaft [spokes > graphite golf club shaft]
~ - countless falls

All in all it was a great day for polo followed by ending it at Founders.

Speaking of our new location, Belknap Park. Below is from Google Maps:

The green rectangle marks where we have currently begun setting up the first of hopefully 2 [if not more] Polo courts. The blue 'X' marks where the photo at the top of the post was shot. The red rectangle is where we would hope to have the second court and the orange rectangle is potentially where seating could go.

There is a lot of work that has to be done, but lots of things seem to be coming together making spring of 2011 a very exciting time for polo here in GR. Below is a video from one of the first games yesterday shot by Justin, nothing flashy but allows you to see more of our space at Belknap.
